This workshop is aimed at piano students, and will focus on topics specifically relevant to musicians who play the piano.
The workshop takes place in 008. Please note that the workshop is limited to a number of 10 participants. Registration is therefore binding and must be cancelled in case you are prevented from participating.
Below you can read more about the method and the topics of this workshop.
Timani is a specialized movement system designed to enhance musicians' understanding of the body’s role in musical performance. It focuses on the anatomy and movement necessary to play with optimal effectiveness, while also addressing common physical issues faced by musicians.
We will explore topics such as:
· Exercises to offload shoulders and arms
· How to have more sense of weight in the arm
· Enhancing finger technique and sound
· How to gain more sound and power without strain
· Gain better anatomical understanding for piano playing
· Improve musical performance and sense of safety through understanding posture and movement
· Prevent injuries and manage muscular imbalance
Timani is taught and used worldwide—from soloists to ensembles, and from music students to professionals and music teachers. It is increasingly being incorporated into the curricula of prestigious music schools and universities due to its effectiveness in promoting musicians' health and performance.
